I competed up to Prix Saint Georges level but I quickly realized what I loved was training and judging. I love riding at home but I’m absolutely not a competitor, probably because I’m too perfectionist and it’s essentially the basic work that fascinates me.
My father was an orthopedic surgeon. When I was little he used to perform surgery on jockeys quite frequently. Already passionate about horses, I asked to ride. I was ready to do anything to be around horses and take home their smell ! Today, I keep my love of horses but I know better, I learned to watch and listen to them.
After forty years, I still learn every single day. I owe a lot of my progress to judging as it forces me to ask new questions and to evolve. Training Camille and Corentin occupies most of my time. I am every day by their side for each of their horses. Being in contact with the best horses in the world always pushes me a little further in my appreciation and my technique.
I’m always busy with something (hyper active?), I appreciate a good book and a cup of tea, I love animals as much as I consider humans. I am moved by a beautiful landscape, I enjoy sitting in the sun … I want to live my life taking pleasure in the simplest moments.
